And Nicole Kliest from Who What Wear completely agrees with me. “Effortless style is tough to define (and even tougher to master), but luckily there are wardrobe staples that help make this fashion feat a tad easier.” So if you’re looking for some spring pieces that you can mix n’ match, scroll down to see and shop my favorite brands.
You always see sundresses and cropped jeans in almost every retail store when the weather warms up, which eliminates the idea of wearing jeans or any other fall favorites that you wore last season. However, that’s a big misconception that you can only wear fall and winter things in fall and winter. There are so many ways you can recreate your favorite looks but still make it appropriate to the time of year. A good example of this is to pair your favorite slip-on sneaker with shorts and a flannel or sandals with a dress and long cardigan.
If you’re anything like me, then black takes up 90% of your wardrobe. But don’t fear… black goes with everything! My favorite two colors are black and white and that’s mainly because they’re easy to match and I probably still have the NYC’s fashion mentality. A couple of my favorite errand-inspired pieces are from Lululemon, Target, Anne Klein, and Greats.
Now that it’s socially acceptable to wear leggings outside of the gym and yoga mat, I decided to pair my Lululemon high-rise leggings with a black quarter length blouse from last season (fall). For accessories I always keep it minimal with my Cartier bracelet and rings, studded earrings, and a crossbody bag from Anne Klein. And in honor of the slip-on sneaker craze this spring, I’ve paired up with a Brooklyn based shoe company named Greats! My White Wooster Slip-On Sneakers are a major staple for me not only for spring but also this summer!
“When we decided to make a slip-on sneaker, we knew we needed to do it the right way. That’s why we were inspired by fashion expert Nick Wooster, who knows a thing or two about classics done right. Like the man himself, the Wooster is every bit a modern classic. Every wrinkle and imperfection becomes part of a story you tell when you put on these shoes.” I love Greats mission statement because it really speaks to the culture of those that wear sneakers day-in and day-out. Talk about brining the community together! The Wooster line is a part of their Premium Collection and the title speaks for itself. Everything from the packaging to the stitching of each shoe is constructed to give you an artesian look thus creating a timeless piece. I recommend The Wooster line to any individual looking for a well-made slip-on sneaker that provides comfort. Until next time…
