Lookbook 25

1980’s Fendi

I was extremely excited to share this look book with you guys because it has so much history behind it – hence the title (1980’s). Just like many other individuals, I love thrifting and recreating something that was once created before.

I was extremely excited to share this look book with you guys because it has so much history behind it – hence the title (1980’s). Just like many other individuals, I love thrifting and recreating something that was once created before. This isn’t to show disrespect to the new and current trends, style, etc. But I appreciate the craftsmanship of something before my time a little bit more.

Fendi. Awww, baby why do you do this to me?! The fashion house Fendi was launched in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi as a fur and leather shop in Rome. Fast forward to the 1960’s and that’s when the iconic double f’s were introduced to the existing fashion world by Karl Lagerfeld. Today, Fendi one of the top fashion houses known for its’ style, innovation, style and grace.

How Anna Wintour hates when people wear all black, I hate to stick to the present time. It is so vital to reply and reuse all outlets when it comes to creating the perfect fit for you! Ask me this 3 years ago and I would have kindly responded with a “hell no”. But I’ve more so recently learned to appreciate the history behind these “ugh I wish I could buy that” fashion houses, and once you fully understand the history you have a better understanding of how much more value a Louis Vuitton bag from 10 years ago with ripped top handles and missing feet has over the bag from next season.

Little did I know, this gem had been sitting in the back of my moms closet unnoticed for one too many seasons. So then I thought, there’s no better way to go into the warm season. Secondhand or vintage items, bag in particular, can be paired with anything. So I decided to pair this old item with a new trend – fishnets under boyfriend jeans. And not to mention the whole denim on denim mania that’s been around since the 1990’s but has manifested its way back into our lives in spring 2016. Moral of the story is hold on to old pieces because they’ll probably be the next best thing. Until next time…

xoxo, B.
