This is revolutionary. Kate Moss, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and every other red carpet socialite has been spotted in some sort of sheer – or better known as the “naked dress”.
This is revolutionary. Kate Moss, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and every other red carpet socialite has been spotted in some sort of sheer – or better known as the “naked dress”. And just as expected, this past New York Fashion Week had all wannabe’s figuring out how to pair a sheer top with their Hudson’s or searching for the social acceptance of strangers seeing just about everything. With that being said, it would be a massive understatement to say that this trends life would come to end in December. Actually, I’m just going to make a blanket statement and say that everyone is doing sheer for next couple season – so stock up on the right undergarments.
Sheer screams complete sex appeal! It’s the passageway to I want you to look but just enough to keep them guessing. The Style Symphony even said it themselves and I completely agree! “Transparent fabrics are the coolest trend of the season, is an unforgiving one and if ever you needed a gym membership and a fit body, it’s now. Be it international designers like Fendi, Marc Jacobs, or Galliano or our own Rocky S, Gayatri Khanna or Raakesh Agarwal, transparency ruled everywhere. Dresses, blouses, pants and skirts appear in sheer fabrics like chiffon and organza that skim the body. You can wear them as they are, in breezy whites, blues or bright neon, or layer one color over another to create a kaleidoscope of shades. Cool and sexy, the trend works for both daytime chic and evening glamour.” But outside of Fashion Week, this trend is a little tricky to pull off. But don’t worry; you know I’ve got you covered.
Below, I have created a little checklist to keep in mind for the next time you consider wearing sheer:
– For a romantic, feminine look, try chiffon.
– For a sexy, dramatic look, opt for organza.
– Well-fitting camisoles and neat seamless bras are perfect to wear under transparent tops.
– Layering of different color transparent fabrics will create interesting new colors.
– Flats or over-the-knee boots work extremely well with this trend.
– Keep your accessories simple and clutter free.
I’ve partnered with Bellen Brand and I’m in love with their long sleeve sheer top. It’s so lightweight and like all Bellen Brand products, it’s at the perfect price point. Like you all know, I have this absurd obsession for chunky cardigans around this time of year so I paired the two together for the picture-perfect effortless look. Over-the-knee socks and tall boots with my Chanel shoulder bag and shades was all that was needed to complete the look. This look can be worn running errands or for a lunch date. For now, expect to see more of your Instagram followers taking this sheer madness by storm. Until next time…
