DATE NIGHT: The Perfect Summer Outfit
Underneath all that pre-date-night excitement is one anxiety inducing thought: What am I going to wear?! Whether you’ve been married for 10 years or just started seeing someone new, odds are you know the feeling pretty well.
Underneath all that pre-date-night excitement is one anxiety inducing thought: What am I going to wear?! Whether you’ve been married for 10 years or just started seeing someone new, odds are you know the feeling pretty well. Saturday evening rolls around and suddenly everything in your closet looks too sexy or not sexy enough. It’s annoying to be sure, and can also cut into your confidence—who wants to feel self-conscious when you’re trying to flirt?
But I will tell you a part from choosing pumps or wedges, a black pencil skirt or a red dress, the most important thing is self confidence. As funny as it may sound, men can actually tell when a woman is not confident in herself. I know as women we feel as though we need to have our brows on fleek and matching nail polish but most guys don’t notice those things. They enjoy women that are engaged in conversation and aren’t distracted by the flaws she only sees.
So how does “The Perfect Summer Outfit” tie into my rant about needing self confidence?! It all correlates with what YOU are comfortable in. If you feel sexy in a pair of sweatpants and your hair tied up then more power to you! Now this doesn’t mean go on your first date in a baggy t-shirt that has pizza sauce on it from last night and lettuce in your teeth because you claim your confidence level is on Kanye (because you more than likely won’t get asked out again). But make sure you are comfortable in what you’re wearing. Men can tell if you are wearing something that you normally wouldn’t wear based on your body language.
My go-to for a summer date night is a romper. Why? Because I feel the most comfortable and beautiful in it. It’s like a wannabe dress that makes you not worry about the back or front flying up from the wind. I also enjoy a cute heel! For this particular look I paired the romper with an open toed heel that elevated the outfit just a little more. To complete the look I tied it with accessories and a nice date on my arm.
