Boyfriend Jeans Meet Jimmy Choo Steve Madden

Okay what, a girl can’t dream?! Now if you thought this post was about me rocking a pair of Jimmy Choo’s then codose to me. Unless you’re an extremely fortunate college student that has your hands on a very large trust fund, most of us are living the typical paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle.

And in my case even with a luxurious employer such as Michael Kors, I still find myself checking my online banking app after my third Starbucks purchase. But enough of that… I promise I’ll talk about money management and my “how much do you love me?” texts to my parents in another post. This post is a refresher to those fashionistas that already know how to turn heads in a pair of boyfriend jeans. And for those of you new to my page or completely clueless to the fashion world, here’s a little 101 on how boyfriend jeans should look (you’d be surprised on how many people don’t know how to wear them).

Now some people call them “boyfriend jeans” while others refer to them as “tom girl jeans”… Tomato, ToMAto. For purpose of discussion I’ll call them boyfriend jeans and for the longest time whenever I heard that term I thought of a Cali girl that had endless amounts of Converse Chuck Taylor’s, 10 too many tie bracelets you get from Mexico, and of course to top it all off she could look way better than you rolling out of bed and tossing on a pair of – yup you guessed it, boyfriend jeans. Well guess what, my whole thought process on who and how to wear them was WRONG. Now this is not to get you confused, you can still wear them with your favorite pair of Chucks, it’s just not the only way to mix n’ match this 2012 fashion obsession.  So people argue and say it’s a trend while others claim it’s a staple. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say the birth of these jeans probably had something to do with the 80’s mom jeans.

And now we’re here, in 2016, where I am showing you my favorite go-to look when it comes to boyfriend jeans. I know I teased you a little bit in the beginning by labeling this blog with “Jimmy Choo”but all jokes aside. The reality is I am no where near the financial stability to spend $950 on a pair of cute, yet uncomfortable, pumps that I’ll be more than happy to take off at the end of the night. But I can and do find the means to look for a cheaper alternative – Steve Madden. I know you can’t say you’re wearing the same designer as Carrie from Sex in the City, but hey it’s close enough. Since things are already looking like I woke up late at my boyfriends place, I thought why not toss on a baggy white tee to complete the look. The blazer.. besides the fact that it’s my all time favorite it also makes it look like I tried. Tip for the future, don’t ever think you need to empty your savings account just to get the look you’re going for. Sometimes it takes the right shoe rack and a little patience.

xoxo, B.
